With our extensive wireless wide area networks in Gaborone and Francistown, as well as nationwide coverage through Metro Ethernet and national fiber, we are committed to delivering reliable and high-quality internet services to our valued customers.

OPQ was founded in Botswana in response to the growing demand for an Internet Service Provider that could guarantee reliability and outstanding customer service. Over the past 18 years, we have successfully achieved these goals, establishing a strong and loyal customer base.

Starting Up

From the beginning, OPQ has been at the forefront of internet connectivity in Botswana. We played a key role in forming the Botswana Internet Service Provider’s Association (BISPA) and the Botswana Internet Exchange (BINX). The BINX is a vital platform for local ISPs and PTOs to exchange traffic, keeping local data traffic within the country. This initiative has reduced our customers’ costs and provided faster access to locally connected services. A recent milestone for BINX was the installation of Google’s caching servers directly on-site, allowing us to provide lightning-fast access to cached Google data, including high-speed streaming content such as YouTube©.

Innovative

At OPQ, we take pride in being an innovative service provider that sets the standard in our industry. We were the first to introduce 24-hour support lines and SMS alert systems, ensuring that our clients are always informed of both planned and unplanned outages. Additionally, OPQ led the way by including Wi-Fi routers as standard, creating hotspots accessible to everyone. Our core network, Data Centre, and Disaster Recovery Centre are now capable of operating independently of the main supply for indefinite periods, ensuring continuous connectivity even during power outages.
