OPQ was founded in Botswana in response to the growing demand for an Internet Service Provider that could guarantee reliability and outstanding customer service. Over the past 18 years, we have successfully achieved these goals, establishing a strong and loyal customer base.

Starting Up

From the beginning, OPQ has been at the forefront of internet connectivity in Botswana. We played a key role in forming the Botswana Internet Service Provider’s Association (BISPA) and the Botswana Internet Exchange (BINX). The BINX is a vital platform for local ISPs and PTOs to exchange traffic, keeping local data traffic within the country. This initiative has reduced our customers’ costs and faster access to locally connected services. A recent milestone for BINX was the installation of Google’s caching servers directly on-site, allowing us to provide lightning-fast access to cached Google data, including high-speed streaming content such as YouTube©.
